A career in healthcare & tech

Have you ever thought about changing your career to tech? Meet Pauline, a Java developer whom will share her journey going from the healthcare sector to tech.

After the presentation Juulia, a Senior data scientist, will join Pauline in an exciting Q&A session. Juulia shares Paulines unique combination of knowledge in both healthcare and tech. Here is your opportunity to find out anything you want related to the IT field or healthcare sector.

Inspirational Panel

Pauline is a Java developer. Born in Gothenburg - she now lives with her boyfriend and their 5 cats in an apartment in central Gothenburg. She has a background in biochemistry. When she was 35 she decided to take the step to change her career from healthcare to tech as she couldn’t find the opportunities and challenges she needed in her then-current field.

In her free time, she likes crafty stuff like knitting and painting, but also nerdy things such as board games and computer games. And of course coding! She also loves to teach and therefore, she is a code mentor in Pink Programming.

------------------------------------------------------

Juulia is a data scientist and academic researcher with long experience of R & D in the biomedical and healthcare sectors. She completed Bachelor’s and Master’s in biomedical engineering and a PhD in systems neuroscience at Aalto University in Finland. During her studies she worked at Euformatics on building genomic data analysis tools and at Signant Health on digital data capture in clinical trials.

Juulia has worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Oxford University, in the UK, and Linköping University in Sweden. Her research on social interaction and the somatosensory system has been published in internationally leading journals.

Since 2021 she has been working as a senior data scientist at Sahlgrenska University Hospital’s AI Competence center, managing and executing end-to-end data science projects and advocating for the use of advanced analytics. Juulia is also a code mentor in Pink Programming.

Workshop

Lobna - IT consultant, has a BSc in Computer Science and Psychology. She has over 10 years of experience in the IT field where she has worked as a software developer combined with other leadership roles. She is particularly interested in getting dev teams to work more collaboratively and her favorite quote is "If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough.” Lobna is also a code mentor in Pink Programming.

Isabelle - App- and integrations developer consultant at Exsitec, joined Pink Programming in April of 2022, but her first involvement began as a participant back in 2018. The Sundays were an important influence and inspiration to her own career journey and she decided that she wanted to pay it forward one day. After graduating with a BSc in Informatics, Isabelle is now working as a fullstack integrations developer.
